(Washington) September 16, 2003 … SIA News has obtained Saudi documents that show official Saudi support of Palestinian group Hamas.
Documents and audio tapes obtained exclusively by SIA show Saudi direct official funding of Hamas, which the US has listed as a terrorist group.
Saudi royal advisor Adel al-Jubeir told the NY Times Today such accusations are ridiculous. "It's a ridiculous accusation; no Saudi government money goes to Hamas, directly or indirectly," said, Jubeir. "Why on earth would we not stop this kind of funding? Why on earth would our crown prince say we do not want to support Hamas and then allow people to do this under the table?" he Told the NY Times.
Although NY Times quoted Saudi officials saying their government's support for Palestinian causes goes solely to the Palestinian Authority, the documents obtained by SIA news shows the contrary.
